"I Felt"

I felt the fear inside me building up
As I saw my friend falling apart
Oh, please don't leave me,
For I'll never see you again.
All the time I've spent
Not getting where I want
All I ever want
Is to see you the last day
I'd regret it all my life, just like you said,
"Don't forget my life. We'll be together forever."

Etan Rand, 11 years old

  1. It's amazing how closely a person, only 11 years old, can be touched and hurt in such a tragic way. The words of the author contain such pain, yet hold such hope and healing, when reminiscing about the times shared with the friend that was taken away from them.

The human race is not solely filled with people who cannot release their grievances. There are those who hold hope in their hearts always, and this poem is a good example of that fact.
